Most recently he studied for one year at Ecole Philippe Gaulier International Theatre School in Paris France. Upon returning home John created a one-man show with fellow actor Graham Percy called The Peggy Show . It is a multi-media history of the Cove and takes place in the villages original one-room schoolhouse. Inspired by the physical comedy of Buster Keaton, Faulty Towers, Monty Python and Peter Sellers and with the help of a water hose, bungee cord, and trampoline we are taken back to that fateful night Peggy was shipwrecked off the coast and we hear the tale of her miraculous survival.
After 5 years of running The Peggy Show, John Beale will be starting a new project. The Peggy Show was written after Beale studied with Philippe Gaulier in Paris, and this spring he has been granted to return for a masters session specializing in clown. Afterwards, Beale will craft a new show, which will open next summer in Peggy’s Cove brought to you by Old Red Schoolhouse Productions, (a division of Beales' Bailiwick Ltd). On Monday September 22nd at 7PM there was a celebration of the closing of The Peggy Show in benefit of Beale’s next creation to open in Summer 2009. www.thepeggyshow.net
